One of the top three best ideas I’ve ever had was for Josh and I to meet up with our besties in Leavenworth, WA, for a kid-free getaway. As John said, "nothing better than game night with the Rogers'." Although in all honesty it's not too hard to have a good time when you're playing Adult Loaded Questions. The game just speaks for itself.
Missy and my ultimate goal for this getaway was to rent some tandem bikes and go cruising around downtown. Also, to convince our husbands that we need to buy a farm house together and raise our twelve children in our cult-like but mostly super awesome commune where we make our own butter and build all of our own furniture. Since we were unable to buy a house together we knew the tandem bike ride was non-negotiable.
Upon calling every rental place in Leavenworth, we discovered that there was only one single tandem bike in the entire town, so of course we went to see it.
First off, let me tell you that thing is NOT easy to steer. And that's coming from someone who rode on the back each time and didn't even have to contribute very much. Let’s just say the bike keeps moving even if the person in the back stops pedaling ;).
Deep down, or maybe not so deep, I preferred Missy steering the tandem bike. Josh. I love him and his chiseled body, but he was all about seeing how fast we could turn and if at some point we'd spin out. It was a wee bit terrifying which you can clearly see by my traumatized face of fear up there ^^^. And if this was a video you'd hear me shouting "TELL MADELYN I LOVE HER!"
Stay tuned for “The Leavenworth Chronicles Part II” post that has an epic story included.
